The Vienna Open Lab offers biotech courses to the public, and the participants will get some hands-on goo action in a 4.5-hour DNA forensics course: 'This course offers you the possibility to assume the role of a forensic scientist. You are generating a genetic fingerprint of DNA traces which were found in a spectacular theft. In the course you extract DNA from different suspects and prepare a genetic fingerprint with the help of a polymerase chain reaction and a chip analysis. In the end it is up to you to compare the suspect's DNA pattern with the DNA traces found at the crime scene to identify the criminal.'

The workshop will be held at the Vienna Open Lab, Dr. Bohr-Gasse 3, 1030 Vienna. However, we will be gathering at the Metalab (Rathausstraße 6, 1010 Vienna) at 10:20 AM to get there collectively.
The cost is 15 EUR per person. If interested, be quick and send a registration e-mail to ; the maximum number of participants is 20.
