Since Clifford Stoll created the first honeypots in 1989 to safely investigate attacks to computer systems, honeypots have been all around. Although they have been refined and extended, fundamental problems in either attack coverage or visual representation have been plaguing those systems. CSN.OR.AT was an ISPA funded project to address those two issues and provide the necessary information and software to build the honeypot+ discussed in this talk.
Florian Eichelberger has been working in the IT industry for over 10 years now, from malware analysis to computer forensics and incident handling. He has been engaged ever since in various IT security projects like the first Austrian wardriving project in 2001 (Netagent), to more recent projects like the first Austrian Rootkit Detection Software Radix and the Honeypot project CSN.OR.AT.
Besides forensics and malware analysis he has a strong interest in general IT security and history.
